Tunde and Chidinma.
One Home. Two Silences.
And the Night It All Changed.
Tunde Adeyemi is 44. Construction company in Abuja. By every external measure — successful. But for two years, he had been going to bed with a fear that had no name. He and his wife Chidinma had stopped being intimate the way they used to be. Not because of anger. Not because of distance. Because every time he tried, he was failing — and the silence between them afterward was growing longer.
One night she touched my face in the dark and said: "Tunde, I'm not going anywhere. But I miss you. I miss us." I went to the bathroom and sat on the floor for twenty minutes. Not crying. Just sitting. Because I did not know how to fix what was breaking between us.
— Tunde A., Abuja FCTChidinma is 34. She had been wanting a child since they married in 2019 — and she had been trying everything. By Year 2, the injections had started. Mood swings so severe Tunde didn't know how to talk to her. Two IVF rounds. Nothing. The same month Tunde sat on the bathroom floor — Chidinma was doing the same thing on the other side of that wall.
I remember looking at the negative test and telling God: "I have done everything. I don't understand." And then I realised I hadn't heard my husband really laugh in months. We were both disappearing. And we weren't even talking about it.
— Chidinma A., Abuja FCTA colleague placed TAVORA FX on Tunde's desk with two words: "Trust this." The same week, Chidinma's friend sat across from her at lunch and put GRAZER for Women on the table. "Before you do anything else — 90 days. Promise me."
They didn't know about each other's bottles at first. They both started the same week. What happened next is the part they tell together now — because they cannot tell it separately.
TAVORA FX — Week 2: Morning wood returned — firm, consistent, like fifteen years ago. Tunde said nothing. He just felt something waking up inside him.
GRAZER — Week 3: Chidinma's period arrived on the exact day it was supposed to — for the first time in two years. No cramps. She stared at the calendar on her phone for a long time.
TAVORA FX — Week 3: Tunde lasted 38 minutes. Chidinma held his face in her hands in the dark and looked at him the way she used to. She didn't say anything. She didn't need to.
GRAZER — Month 3: Chidinma was four days late. She drove two towns away to buy a test so nobody would see her. She held it for a long time before looking. Two lines. Two clear lines. She slid down the bathroom wall and said "Thank You" until Tunde broke down the door.
We cried on that bathroom floor for twenty minutes. Both of us. The same floor where we had each cried alone. This time — together. Our twins, Adaeze and Emeka Jr., are 18 months old. If you are reading this — please do not wait as long as we did.
